When a person takes meth it increases the levels of the neurotransmitter dopamine. This stimulates brain cells, enhancing mood and body movement.

However, a meth user who is tweaking will experience declining euphoria each time they ingest the drug due to their increased tolerance.
Large amounts of meth may cause a dangerously elevated body temperature as well as convulsions and even cardiovascular collapse and death.
