About Crystal Meth

Crystal Meth Facts

Meth comes in different colors depending on how it is made and what it is made with. Typically it will come as an off-white or yellow powder. However, there is a form of meth known as crystal meth that resembles glass fragments and looks like shiny blue-white rocks.
Meth abuse and addiction can result in cardiovascular collapse and death.
Meth is known to be a very aggressive drug. Users become violent and lose their ability to control their impulsive, irrational behavior.
The National Survey on Drug Use and Health in 2008 showed that the number of past-month meth users age 12 and older decreased by over half between 2006 and 2008. The same survey found that current (past-month) users were numbered at 731,000 in 2006, 529,000 in 2007, and 314,000 in 2008.
White, odorless and a bitter-tasting crystalline powder, meth easily dissolves in water or alcohol. The drug is taken orally, intranasal (snorting the powder), by needle injection, or by smoking.
