About Crystal Meth

Research has shown that extended abuse of meth can cause damage to the users brain similar to that caused by Alzheimer's disease, stroke and epilepsy. This brain damage lingers for months and even after the user stops taking the drug.
You may be surprised to read that meth comes in many forms. This drug is smoked, snorted, orally ingested, or injected. Meths ability to alter the users moods in different ways depending on how it is taken is somewhat unique.
Common meth use paraphernalia includes: light bulbs, pens, aluminum foil, bottle caps, empty pop cans and needles.
Meth strongly activates the users reward system in their brain. The drug works by triggering the neurotransmitter dopamine.
Although crystal meth is known to cause extreme weight loss the effects are not permanent and many regular meth users experience adaptation where the weight loss no longer occurs as the body becomes used to the effects of the crystal meth. When this happens habitual users may even start to gain weight.
