Users take meth in a variety of ways; they smoke, snort, inject or swallow the drug.
If a meth user suffers meth-psychosis it can last for days after the last dose of methamphetamine.
When smoked or injected ice crystal meth can produce effects within seconds. With smoking or IV ice crystal meth; there is an intense rush that lasts only for a few minutes.
A meth users mental state of mind often changes quickly. Addicts who abuse this drug habitually may show signs similar to schizophrenics and people with obsessive compulsive disorders.
The harmful chemicals used to create meth include toluene, iodine, red phosphorus (used in road flares), sodium hydroxide, lithium/sodium metal, hydrochloric acid, anhydrous ammonia (a fertilizer), drain cleaner, battery acid, lye, pool acid, and antifreeze. Many of these chemicals are severe eye, nose, and throat irritants or cause skin burns or breathing difficulty.
