The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency released its voluntary guidelines for meth lab cleanup in August of 2009. During the meth cooking process any harsh liquids that are dumped or spilled will remain as residue for a long time. This includes when meth waste is dumped down bathtubs, toilets and sinks.
Meth addiction has many negative health consequences including extreme weight loss, severe dental problems (meth mouth), anxiety, confusion, insomnia, mood disturbances, and violent behavior.
There was an estimated 731,000 current (past month) meth users over the age of 12 in 2006.
Meth addicts will change the way they behave. If you suspect that someone you care about is using meth, observe any drastic changes in their behavior. If they were once open and outgoing and now are closed off and secretive this is a sign of addiction.
