Babies born to meth addicted mothers will act like premature infants even if they are born full-term. They will have trouble sucking and swallowing, sensitivity to touch, shaking or tremors, and often demonstrate abnormal reflexes and extreme irritability.
You may have heard that meth users often feel compelled to repeat meaningless tasks, such as taking apart and reassembling bits of machinery. Others may pick at imaginary bugs on their skin or brush their hair repeatedly.
Some meth users take the drug by hot railing. This is where the user snorts the drug through a super-heated glass pipe.
Meths effects are somewhat different depending on how the drug is taken. When meth is smoked or injected the user will experience a strong sensation, resembling a vibration or 'rush', which weakens within a few minutes. When meth is snorted or swallowed the user will experience a temporary euphoria.
An overdose of meth gives no immediate signs to users. A meth user may take a lethal dose and not realize that they have just done so until it is too late.
