They can no longer feel pleasure or motivation the way they did before meth use. In short, it makes the meth user not care about anything but taking the drug.
When a meth user binges on meth they barely sleep or eat at which point they become too tired to continue or have no meth left and begin to "crash."
Several forms of meth addiction treatment have proven effective. The most common include comprehensive cognitive-behavioral interventions, behavioral therapy, family education, individual counseling, 12-step support, drug testing and encouragement for nondrug-related activities.
Meth addiction can cost the addict and society. In 2005 the cost of foster care for children from a meth-related placement averaged $3,859,836 (183x$21,092).
