During the 1970s meth production was centered in clandestine labs throughout the Western and Southwestern United States. During this time period disputes over control of the illegal methamphetamine market became responsible for the kind of gang-related violence once restricted to the cocaine trade.
Drug users snort, swallow, inject or smoke meth. Each of these different ways of taking the drug creates a powerful high for the drug user but smoking or injecting the drug produce the strongest and fastest rush.
Crystal Meth is a central nervous system stimulant and is very, very addictive. Nearly half of first time crystal meth users and more than 3/4 of second time crystal meth users report addiction-like cravings. 
Children who live in meth labs face more than just child neglect. They are exposed to potential fires, explosions and exposure to extremely toxic chemicals.
Living in a meth lab can cause damage the brain, liver, kidneys and spleen and can also cause cancer.
