Drivers under the influence of meth are considered impaired and are dangerous to themselves and others on the road.
The street drug meth is closely related chemically to amphetamines, but the central nervous system effects of meth are more intense.
Babies born to meth addicted mothers will act like premature infants even if they are born full-term. They will have trouble sucking and swallowing, sensitivity to touch, shaking or tremors, and often demonstrate abnormal reflexes and extreme irritability.
Pieces of clear, high-purity meth (also known as ice, crystal, or glass) are smoked in a small pipe, much as crack cocaine is smoked.
The most obvious sign of meth use is rapid weight loss. The amount of weight that a person loses can vary from person to person but on average a person can lose 8 to 10 pounds a month for several months in a row.
