When a person is using meth, parts of their brain become damaged including the areas responsible for memory, judgment, impulse control, and mood states.

Its use can cause symptoms such as irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia), rapid pulse, high blood pressure, inflammation of the small blood vessels near the brain and/or inflammation of the heart lining (endocarditis).
