Crystal Meth Facts

Meth addiction can cost the addict and society. In 2005 the cost of foster care for children from a meth-related placement averaged $3,859,836 (183x$21,092).
Meth addiction can cause the user to take the drug in binge cycles. They may use the drug repeatedly and go without sleep for up to two weeks at a time.
Today, a typical meth user is a 17-year-old white male who lives with both parents. Statistics show that he first experimented with meth at age 12, is an underperformer academically, and does not think meth is harmful to his health.
Prescription meth is only available through a doctors prescription and cannot be refilled.
Some meth users have reported remaining paranoid, delusional, apathetic, and socially withdrawn for weeks after their last dose of meth.
